Let’s Have Fun!

[button color=”black”]Press Release[/button]
The ICRA Nationals and WIORA Championship combined event taking place in Tralee Bay and hosted by the Tralee Bay Sailing Club, promises  to be a helluva regatta with a strong emphasis on putting the “fun” back in the event and making sure all involved go home with a smile on their faces and great memories of Tralee Bay and the “craic” had by all. As it is a combination of two events, there will be duel scoring for both events for two days out of the four.

Entry fee is very reasonable, accommodation has never been cheaper – unless you want to stay in a tent! Entertainment will be true Kerry style, while the sailing will be sublime in the marvellous waters of Tralee Bay! What more could one ask for?  Okay, the weather will play a part. We are happy to soak up this month’s bad weather so that next month will be just fantastic! Believe me, we have it “sussed” in Kerry!

All crews have been challenged by the local Fenit Rowing Club in a Tug-of-War, so if you haven’t done well on the water, you might go home with a prize anyhow! Having said that, Fenit Rowing Club are confident that they can better all would-be challengers. Beware!

This year, for the first time, there will also be an overall club prize, open to all – the WD40 Club Trophy. All boats from each club will be included on their club team and the best three results will count from each club. All classes will be included with no restrictions on number from any class. For example, three Class 3 boats could be the winning team….!

On top of this, Tralee Bay Sailing Club will have an “Admiral Popov” trophy lined up for the funniest or most ridiculous incident of the event. So, while serious sailing will be taking place, please do not come with the intention of taking everything too seriously. Let the hair down and join in the “craic”. The village of Fenit will be “alive” for the event!

Our sailors will have a “fun” event if we provide them with top class racing & good management. The shore side will then be enjoyable because of this and not the other way around. There are enough “fun” events around …’

Having said that, on a more serious note (ha, ha), please note the extended discounted Entry Fee payment date is almost upon us. This closes on May 15th, so please, please save yourself some money and us some time, and get your payment into Tralee Bay Sailing Club by post before the cut-off date!
