ICRA Cruiser National Championships faced a 3 hour postponement due to weather on Friday and today Saturday.
The Race officers achieved getting on the water Friday afternoon and succeeded in getting in a single Race to give them a Championship.
Today they had to abandon efforts to achieve any racing due to wild conditions in Tralee Bay.
Yesterday’s Race was a tricky shifty one that saw Discover Ireland take the win in Class 0 IRC from Jump Juice. Discover Ireland also won Echo.
In Class 1 Bon Example gained her first IRC win followed by Jelly Baby and Zena. Joker 11 claimed Echo
In Class 2 IRC Checkmate claimed her third bullet followed by Disarray and Smile.
Class 3 IRC saw local Sigma 33 Boojum take honours from Jaguar ( J24) and quarter Tonner Quest third.Boojum also took Echo on the day.
In the non spinnaker Corinthian Cup Growler won IRC and Ridire Ban won Echo
Dubarry sponsored super day crew prizes with new Boot Bags , Hats and Wallets for all the crews recognising that sailing is a team sport.
Today’s Racing has been abandoned after postponement as there was no let up in strong winds and Gusty showers.
