ICRA Reminds Sailors that Training Grants Are Still Available in 2018.

Dublin – June 17, 2018

Following on from the ICRA supported training weekend recently held at the Royal Western Yacht Club in Kilrush, ICRA are reminding sailing clubs across Ireland that crew training grants are still available from the cruiser racing authority to provide assistance to clubs to run a cruiser racing training programme.

Howth Yacht Club , the Royal Western Yacht Club and the J24 Class Association are just three of the recipients of ICRA training grants this year with over 80 sailors benefiting from targeted on the water and on shore training.

Following on from the most recent event held at the RWCI, Event organiser, Adrian O’Connell reported how the team from UK Sailmakers had provided on the water coaching to each participating boat. Over several races, coaching was provided in the areas of sail trim, rig set up, race tactics and starting line tactics with a full debrief held ashore afterwards.
