Thanks to wins at the Nationals and Calves Week Kaya currently sits on top of the ICRA BoTY rankings.
The 3 boats in behind her have ranked up 9 points in markedly different ways. Snoopy dominated Class 3 at the National Championship and placed 2nd in Calves. At the other end of the scale, Neulargo won the Dun Laoghaire to Dingle and then places 2nd in coastal racing at Sovereigns. 2019 Boat of the Year Rockabill VI has peeved together results including a win in the ISORA Coastal Series together with 2nd place in the D2D and DBSC Thursday series.
Of the remaining boats still in contention. Storm and white sailer Price of Tides sits on 7.5
In 2019 the HYC Autumn League sealed the deal for Rockabill VI. In 2021 it could yet be the RCYC Autumn League that nudges Neulargo ahead of the Kaya for final honors.
With the 2022 ICRA National Championships combining with Cork Week, ICRA is also inviting potential host clubs to apply to host the ICRA National Championships in 2023 and also 2024. Any club interested should send an expression of interest to info@cruiserracing.ie by 15th October please.
