Royal Cork and ICRA welcome competitors to the 2017 ICRA Nationals

Crosshaven – May 22, 2017
We are delighted to welcome competitors to this edition of the Irish Cruiser Racing Nationals in Crosshaven. We have a strong fleet from all over the country entering our national event in Royal Cork in early June.

Entry is still open and we hope the published entry list will increase between now and the closing date of Friday May 26th.

The fleet entered is a good representation of the active cruiser racing in Ireland today.

The Organising Authority will finalise the divisions closer to the start of the event and will endeavour to make the splits as competitive as possible. Currently, it looks like we will have Divisions 0, 1, 2, 3 and Non-Spinnaker for the event, but we will confirm and publish the list closer to the date of the start of the event.

With regards to the requested and advertised Coastal Division we might ask that if there are any entrants that intend racing in this specific division, that they might confirm their interest by return email to this address asap.

At present, the Race Officers will be working in two race areas for the various divisions, with an In-Harbour and Outer-Harbour start area. The outer area is planned to be located outside Roches Point with a mix of race types including Windward/Leeward, Sausage/Triangle and Around-the-cans, while the inner harbour start area will cater for the Non-Spinnaker division as well as a rotating other division(s). Course type will be varied with the use of navigation and harbour marks inside and outside the harbour. Of course final confirmation and further details will be sent soon.

As advertised, the Royal Cork marina will be available to all competitor boats for the event. You might drop the Marina Manager, Mark Ring, an email confirming your expected day/time of arrival so he can provide suitable berths etc for when you arrive in Crosshaven. You can reach him at mark@royalcork.com

Crane hire and accommodation details are available on the event website.

If you or your crew have any special requests just drop me an email atpaul@ptingle.com or to the club manager Gavin Deane at gdeane@royalcork.com and hopefully we can help.

We all are looking forward to seeing you all in Crosshaven very soon. Safe delivery.

Kind regards,
Paul G. Tingle
