Club Racing is the foundation that all keelboat activity in Ireland.
At ICRA we understand that club committee’s and volunteers face many challenges in stimulating this activity.
During 2024, we worked with Irish Sailing’s Racing Manager, Stephen O’Shaughnessy, to contact every club with an active keelboat fleet. We gathered, collated and analysed the feedback we received.
In the spring of 2025, we invited Representatives from these clubs to attend regional meetings where we presented the findings of our research and offered ideas on how to tackle the common problems faced by clubs.
ICRA understand that Irish clubs vary greatly in size and structure, so the ideas contained in this presentation should be seen as a “toolbox” that can be drawn on by clubs as and when a club requires.
