ICRA is receiving a significant level of interest from all around the country about the “Crew Recruitment and Training Programme” initiative, which was announced earlier in January. Currently efforts are set on finalising the details of the initial session taking place in Howth Yacht Club on the 21st of April, and to develop the network of Clubs and Sailing Schools that will deliver this programme country wide.
At present we want to promote the initiative as widely as possible and start working on arrangements with interested sailing clubs, sailing schools and colleges in the different regions of the country, to roll out the “Crew Recruitment and Training Programme”. We need your help with the following:
1) Recruitment and Training Network: As this initiative is designed to recruit new sailors for all clubs, we would like to invite clubs around the country to take part by booking a boat (5 recruits) solely for your club during the launch event April 21st.
This will be a great opportunity for you club representative to make contacts at the event and to get your sailing committee involved, so we can all strengthen an overall “Crew Recruitment and Training Programme” nationwide by having clubs and sailings schools deliver this programme directly at your locations.
2) Spread the word: Please help recruit by having your members spread the word by sharing this link ( https://cruiserracing.ie/training-programmes/ ) with their friends, work colleagues and anyone to whom the programme would be of interest.
3) Local Contacts: If your organisation is interested, we would like to have a nominated contact from you organisation that can act as liaison with ICRA to promote the initiative. We will have a dedicated section in the website with their information so interest can be channelled locally.
